2025 AAU Taekwondo National Championships

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (June 27, 2025) – For the first time ever, the 2025 AAU Taekwondo National Championships are heading to Salt Lake City, Utah. The Salt Palace Convention Center will play host from June 30 – July 5 to thousands of athletes and coaches who are prepared to showcase their art form.

Over 3,230 athletes and more than 720 coaches will travel to Salt Lake City with hopes of leaving with an AAU National Title to their name. Athletes ranging from 5 years old all the way to 50 years and older will compete in a variety of events. Some athletes may also have the chance to earn a spot on the AAU Taekwondo National Team.

The 2025 AAU Taekwon National Championships will showcase the following disciplines:

• Traditional Forms
  Point Sparring
  Olympic Sparring
  Board Breaking
  Weapons Forms
  Freestyle Poomsae
  WT Sport Poomsae
  Demonstration Team Competition
  Mixed Belt & Age Traditional Team Forms

This year's event will bring in athletes from every corner of the country as well as territories outside of the United States including: Alberta, British Columbia, Guatemala, Ontario, Puerto Rico, Quebec, and Queensland. Forty-two (42) states as well as Washington D.C. will also be represented at the 2025 AAU Taekwondo National Championships. 

Competitors at the 2025 AAU Taekwondo Championships are fighting not only for a podium spot, but also for a spot on the AAU National Team. By capturing 1^st place in single elimination or individual recognized divisions, athletes will have a chance to earn their spot for Olympic Sparring, Point Sparring, Sport Poomsae, and Traditional Forms.

Traditional Point Sparring, Continuous Point Sparring, Para Point Sparring, and Demo teams will kick things off on Monday June 30 at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 1^st, after competition has been completed for the day, there will be the AAU Taekwondo Awards Gala. During the Awards Gala, we will announce the winners of the Club of the Year and more.

AAU Taekwondo members will also be donating to the AAU Cares initiative and showing that it is about more than just competition. AAU Taekwondo is a family and a community that truly cares. Athletes and coaches will be bringing items used for dental hygiene to donate to those who may not have access. Thank you to everyone who donates, just one item can help make a difference.
