DAVENPORT, Fla. (December 18, 2023) – The last whistle has been blown, the ice water has been dumped onto coaches, and the national championships have been earned. A cold and windy week in early December saw 72 football teams from across the United States take the field to try and earn their right to take home a national title.

Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Florida played host to the 15th year of the AAU league Based National Championship. Joined with them for this year was the AAU Odd Ages Unrestricted National Championship.

2023 AAU League Based National Championship
Forty-five (45) teams across five different age groups traveled down to Davenport, Florida with pool play starting on December 11. The age groups were split up as 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u, and 14u. In the 6u Division the NE Rattlers, who went undefeated through pool play, and 2390 Elite were both crowned champions. For 8u, we saw the Jr Jags take on the Sandhills Seahawks. Both teams went undefeated in pool play, and the Jr Jags were able to get the job done on championship Friday. In 10u, we had another matchup of undefeated teams, the Lawncrest Lions and Raiders Elite. Lawncrest Lions took home the win handing Raiders Elite their first loss of the tournament. 12u had a battle of alpha dogs, as Alpha Dogs took on East Carolina Alpha Dogs. The Alpha Dogs based out of Florida took home the trophy for 12u. The final matchup for the day was the 14u game featuring an undefeated Virginia Bruins going up against the CYAC Tigers.
