Recap: Top Runners Converged for the 2016 AAU Cross Country National Championships

More than 1,000 cross country runners competed in the annual AAU Cross Country National Championship on December 3, 2016. This year, the event was held in Tallahassee, Florida. This sixth year of the event saw seven age divisions across both boys’ and girls’ competitions.

The 2016 AAU Cross Country National Champions:


Girls 15-18: Sydney Rice, Prospect Park

Girls 13-14: Valerie Lastra, Miami Elite

Girls 11-12: Ani Veltcheva, Unattached

Girls 9-10: Alissa Graham, Club44

Girls 7-8: Michailyn Rose, F.I.A.

Girls 6&U: Aisha Wajid, V02max


Boys 15-18: Hunter Boyer, Calumet Regional Striders

Boys 13-14: Fiker Rosen, Unattached

Boys 11-12: Caleb Hymans, FPYC Cheetah

Boys 9-10: Philip Matchev, Unattached

Boys 7-8: Samuel Comsudes, Unattached

Boys 6&U: Kai Gray, Una Team USA
