ORLANDO Fla. (October 23, 2023) - In the world of competitive sports, rankings have long been the guide for excellence, providing athletes, coaches, and fans with a clear measurement of talent and skill. New for 2024 we are proud and excited to launch the new AAU Girls Basketball National Rankings System. This fresh approach not only identifies the best athletes but also champions well-rounded individuals who embody the values of teamwork and leadership, thus reshaping the landscape of AAU Girls' basketball.

Established in 1888, the AAU boasts a remarkable legacy of over 120 years dedicated to orchestrating basketball events. We stand at the forefront when it comes to hosting well-organized, high-quality events in top-notch venues throughout the nation. The AAU's extensive experience and wealth of knowledge in event hosting are unparalleled by any other organization.

And with the new National Ranking system in AAU Girls Basketball, district directors can transform their events into something truly exceptional, for not only the players who will compete but also for the coaches and fans who invest their time and passion into the world of AAU Girls Basketball. Girls will be able to compete in qualified tournaments to earn their ranking points to find out who is the best of the best.

Led By AAU President Jo Mirza, new staff have been scouted and brought in to help re-energize the AAU Girls Basketball Program. Sharice Green and Julia Alexander have been brought onboard to help lead these new efforts. Sharice has dedicated 12 years to working with prominent events with the west coast. She currently sits on the Women’s Basketball Committee for the Pacific District, as well as being the Associate Director of Women’s basketball at AAU. Julia is a former professional player who started her career playing AAU Basketball. For the past six years she has coached and directed a variety of basketball tournaments, teams, and events across the country. Julia has also been involved with social media management of accounts geared towards girls’ basketball.

With these new additions to our team, we will be able to better the experience for all our participants in AAU Girls Basketball events.

The AAU Qualifying events where girls can earn points while competing will be Invitationals, super regionals, state & district championships, regional championships, conference championships, and world championships.

AAU Regional Championships and Conference Championships will have tournaments for the Eastern and Western Conferences.
