WEST CHESTER, Pa. (March 11, 2022) – It is time to lace up the skates and hit the ice! AAU Hockey is closing out the season with the AAU 2022 College Hockey Federation Cup on March 18 - 23. College club teams from all over will be traveling to West Chester, Pennsylvania for one more chance at an AAU National Championship.

This year, the Federation Cup will be comprised of 32 teams in tournament pool play the weekend of March 18-20. Teams that advance through the pool play round will skate to the quarterfinals, taking place on March 21st, with the semifinals on March 22nd and the Gold & Bronze medal games on March 23rd.

AAU Hockey National Chair Keith Noll commented, "
AAU Hockey is elated to be a part of the Federation Cup and cannot wait to see some big time hockey in the upcoming week."

Athletes will take center ice for the puck drop at Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The opportunity to again host a national tournament in one facility that is right in the center of its major conference distribution on the east coast continued to be a major factor in the decision.  Ice Line partnered with the Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau to once again provide the College Hockey Federation (CHF) with a creative and compelling opportunity to host the tournament.

“Ice Line Quad Rinks offers a state-of-the-art facility to once again host our national tournament that is in an ideal location for our member teams”, stated Jon LaRochester, CHF’s Director of Hockey Operations.

The CHF is also working with the Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau (CCCVB) to create some great experiences for the Federation Cup participants, families, and fans that are able to attend.

“The Chester County Conference & Visitors Bureau is thrilled to once again serve as the host destination for the 2022 Federation Cup! Our staff and hotel partners look forward to working closely with the leadership of CHF and Ice Line over the next couple of months to create a unique experience for everyone,” said Travis Geiser, CCCVB Sports & Events Sales Manager. “We can’t wait to welcome the athletes, families, and fans staying and visiting in Chester County.”

The 32 teams will be divided into eight pools for the pool play round with each team fighting for a spot in the Elite 8 round. The University of Tampa Spartans come in as the number 1 overall seed. The tournament play officially starts on Friday, March 18 at 9:00 a.m. as Embry-Riddle University takes on Hofstra University.
