ORLANDO, Fla. – More than 1,240 AAU athletes have registered to compete in the virtually-held 2020 AAU Taekwondo National Championships, an event that can uniquely promise a ‘home dojang advantage’ for each participant.

The event will be carried out online via Zoom with the action to be available for viewing on Facebook and YouTube. Athletes have the choice of competing either at their own home, dojang, or a host site with 10 or more participants.

Thirty-three states, as well as Canada and Puerto Rico, will be represented in the 2020 AAU Taekwondo National Championships, headlined by Ohio’s Asian Sun Martial Arts studio, which has 128 competitors registered for the event.

The 2020 AAU Taekwondo National Championships will be held in standard Brazilian Repechage format with the following events:

  • Individual Recognized Sport Poomsae
  • Board Breaking: Repetitive Spin Hook
  • Board Breaking: Repetitive Side Kick
  • Board Breaking: Repetitive Hand Technique
  • Traditional Forms: ITF, WT, TSD, Open Traditional
  • Creative Forms
  • Black Belt Team Forms
  • Weapons Forms: Traditional
  • Weapons Forms: Creative

Grand champions and winners for each division will be recognized the next day, October 25th.

The bracket for each age division will be posted at least one day prior to the event. Breaking boards can be purchased here.
