Legandary College Basketball Coaches To Participate In Nationwide Webinar

Of the more than 120 coaches who will participate in the webinar, a few have already risen to legendary status in the sport, on both the men’s and women’s sides.

Some of the most decorated college coaches in the nation will headline a webinar put on by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) from Sunday, September 27 through Thursday, October 1.

Of the more than 120 coaches who will participate in the webinar, a few have already risen to legendary status in the sport, on both the men’s and women’s sides. Expected to attend are national championship coaches Geno Auriemma, who was won 11 titles with the UCONN women’s team; Tony Bennett, who led the Virginia men to the 2019 NCAA championship; and Tara VanDerveer, who has coached the Stanford women to two NCAA crowns. 

Also slated to participate are Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Sherri Coale, who has won four Big 12 tournaments with Oklahoma; Purdue’s Matt Painter, who earned the 2019 National Coach of the Year Award, and Bruce Pearl, who reached the 2019 NCAA Final Four with Auburn and won the 1995 D-II title with Southern Indiana.

The webinar is also excited to have representation from the SEC in Florida’s Mike White and South Carolina’s Frank Martin, who took the Gamecocks on a memorable Final Four run in 2017. A pair of 2020 conference coaches of the year in Wisconsin’s Greg Gard and Creighton’s Greg McDermott will also lend their expertise as will standout women’s coaches Jonathan Tsipis from Wisconsin and Mike Neighbors from Arkansas will also be on hand.
