On December 24th, Baltimore's Greenmount Recreation Center held its 28th annual "A Christmas Wish" Program, providing coats, food baskets, books and toys to local underserved families.

"A Christmas Wish" was created and directed by AAU Sports Director (Girls Basketball) and Baltimore City's Department of Recreation and Parks Recreation Leader Joyce Venable. This year "A Christmas Wish" distributed over 200 gifts and served 300 meals.  Gifts and donations poured in from friends, staff, members of the community, and local organizations, including the MD District AAU.  "As always," says Ben DuBose, MD AAU Governor, "Maryland District AAU is excited to help Joyce with her much-needed program.
Her commitment and dedication to her kids and community are truly inspirational. We help when-ever and wherever we can, with our gifts, monies and our time." MD District AAU donated bikes, toys, and canned goods and lunch to this community project. AAU Volunteers were also on hand, assembling bikes and toys, wrapping presents, serving food and helping to hand out gifts.
