Many of the more than 40,000 athletes in Orlando this week for the AAU Girls\' Junior National Volleyball Championships have given back to the community through various AAU Cares initiatives.

AAU President/CEO Dr. Roger J. Goudy believes strongly in developing the whole athlete. A former superintendent in Ohio, Dr. Goudy takes pride in offering the more than 40,000 athletes in Orlando this week for the AAU Girls' Junior National Volleyball Championships an opportunity to give back to the community through various AAU Cares initiatives.

Athletes, coaches, parents and officials joined forces on Saturday afternoon at Orange County Convention Center to pack 40,000 meals for underpriveleged children. The event also offers opportunities for athletes to raise funds for stage IV breast cancer research in conjunction with the SideOut Foundation, as the marquee annual event for AAU Volleyball, the AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships features three “Dig Pink Days” this year (June 18, 22 and 26) where teams are encouraged to wear pink in support of those impacted every day by breast cancer.
