WOODBURY, N.Y. (October 18, 2017) - Longtime AAU basketball club, Long Island Lightning celebrated 25 years of providing basketball opportunities to the girls and boys of the New York Metropolitan AAU district and surrounding areas. 
 

Founder Jim Fox, NY Metropolitan AAU District governor and Executive Director of Lightning Basketball, welcomed approximately 200 guests to Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York during a ceremony held on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Supporters traveled from as far away as Illinois and Florida to celebrate the history and success of the club that has become a staple on the youth basketball scene in New York. Coaches, parents, club staff and alumni were all on hand to honor the club.

These included AAU national staff Joe Crawford, Director of Basketball, Steve Marcellino, national AAU Counsel, Kyle Goudy, Sponsorships and Partnerships and AAU National Treasurer Jo Mirza.  


Dr. Roger J. Goudy, AAU President/CEO was also on hand to present Jim Fox and Lightning Basketball with a formal Proclamation declaring October 18, 2017 as Jim Fox and Lightning Basketball Day.
