WASHINGTON, DC (July 11, 2017) -  AAU President Dr. Roger J. Goudy and other AAU leadership are headed to Washington, DC next week for the National Council of Youth Sports (NCYS) Sports Day.

NCYS and the Congressional Youth Sports Caucus in celebration of National Youth Sports Week will host a physical activity Expo in the Rayburn House of Representatives Office Building Foyer on Capitol Hill Washington D.C. on NCYS Youth Sports Day, Tuesday July 18, 2017 from 11:00am–1:00pm.

The purpose of the event is to showcase how youth sports organizations and members of Congress can collaborate to promote healthy lifestyles for children and their families through sports. The event features NCYS members and physical activity stations where members of Congress and their staff have the opportunity to play youth sports and learn about youth sports activities.

Specifically the Expo highlights the importance for youth to PLAY(S) sports following the National Council of Youth Sports legislative agenda which focuses on the P.L.A.Y.S. in Youth Sports Act ~ Physical activity, Living healthy, Access, Youth development, and Safety.

Other components are appearances from members of the Congressional Youth Sports Caucus.

The AAU will have a booth at the expo promoting the largest, multi-sport, amateur sport organization in the United States (since 1888).
