KINGSPORT – The Kingsport Convention and Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce that Kingsport will host the Jewel of the Mountains AAU Grand Prix Volleyball Tournament in February 2014. Approximately 64 teams of AAU volleyball players will converge on 8 courts at the Meadowview Marriott Convention Center to compete in the tournament.

The three day event will take place on February 21-23, 2014, and will feature a financial seminar for the players and their families. The tournament is a joint effort between the Kingsport CVB and the Phoenix Rising Volleyball Club from Knoxville, TN. This tournament is the only AAU Grand Prix awarded in the state of Tennessee.

“We’re excited we have been awarded this event and are able to host AAU Volleyball in Kingsport," said Kynette Williams, Executive Director of the Phoenix Rising Volleyball Club. "Providing an exceptional and well-organized event for our high school and middle school club athletes, coaches, fans, and event sponsors is our goal in planning this tournament."

An added bonus of the tournament is that winners of all divisions receive free entry into the AAU National Championships in Orlando, FL or the West Coast Championship in Las Vegas, NV.

The College Financial Seminar is open to the public and will be held in the Crockett Amphitheatre at the Meadowview Marriott on February 21. All are welcome to attend and learn about financial preparedness and tips to be equipped for sending students to college. - See more at: http://www.aauvolleyball.org/News/ArticleDetail.aspx?Title=Kingsport+to+Host+AAU+Grand+Prix+Tournament&ArticleID=5252#sthash.u6QHzPOm.dpuf
