RECAP: 2016 AAU National Volleyball Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. (June 30, 2016) –  The 43rd annual AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships took place June 18 - 26 in the Central Florida area and the AAU Boys' Junior National Volleyball Championships were contested June 17 - 20 at the Orlando Sports Center.


The girls championships have become the preeminent volleyball event in the country with 2,323 teams from across the nation and around the world converging on Orlando, FL area to compete.

Teams hailed from 43 states and 11 nations such as China, Dominican Republic and Canada to name a few. Those teams were comprised of approximately 27,000 athletes, 40,000 spectators and 9,000 coaches who participated on 177 courts at Orange County Convention Center and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex respectively.


The boys championships saw some of the best boys volleyball players and teams ages 14 & under through 17 & under compete. Congratulations to all the teams who participated. We'll see you next year.
