Minnesota Prep Cayla McMorris commits to UW

Cayla McMorris, a 6-foot-1 forward from Park Central High School in Brooklyn Park, Minn., has made an oral commitment to join coach Bobbie Kelsey’s University of Wisconsin women’s basketball program.

McMorris chose UW over Illinois, Iowa, Michigan and Colorado to become Kelsey’s first commit for the 2014 recruiting class.

McMorris is ranked No. 2 in the state by Minnesota Hoops website and No. 109 nationally by Blue Star Basketball. She played AAU ball for North Tartan, the same program that produced former Badgers Alyssa Karel
