John Perales sat on the couch at his home in Greeley, Colo. willing himself not to be sick again. It was less than two weeks before he and his family were set to travel to Detroit, Mich. for the 51st AAU Junior Olympic Games and he knew he would be unable to go to track practice if he was sick again.
